I thought in order to honor Paul McCartney’s meatless monday, I would do a post on food! Let’s start the day with a prayer and meditation: “Dear God, help me to crave food that feeds my body like medicine. Help me to be mindful of what I am putting in my body. Please remind me to put things in my body that help it rather than hurt it.” Now sit for ten minutes and listen to God in the silence….
I want to show you a wonderful and DELICIOUS smoothie I make that feeds my body and soul. I feel that when I start my day with this smoothie, I feel connected to the love in the universe.
What you need: A couple handfuls of kale, 1 cup of coconut milk (no sugar added) yogurt, 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk, 2 kiwis skinned and cut up, 1 banana, 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder. I used Plant Fusion that I get from Dr. Fred Schultz at Center For Health and Healing in Wheaton, IL. www.drfredschultz.com/. I’m iffy about protein power, but this one is delicious! And it has a whopping 21 grams of protein in one scoop!
What you do: Put the kale first in the blender. Then add all the ingredients. Add some crushed ice and water to your liking. You can add a little steevia and top with chia seeds. Delish!
