Are you comfortable? If not, it is time to get comfy cozy right where you are!
I’m not going to lie. I am a life coach who loves her comfort zone! I LOVE being comfortable.
That being said, I am sure you have all heard the saying that everything you want actually lies right outside your comfort zone! Well, it’s true. I mean yes, there are things in my comfort zone that I love. But I don’t want them, because I have them. What I want (and what you want too) lies just outside our comfort zones!
I see my job as your virtual (and maybe real time) life coach is to help you expand your comfort zone. We are not going to make ourselves hugely stressed and uncomfortable. We are simply going to make our comfort zones larger.
How do we do this? We do small things everyday that are outside our comfort zones. Afterwards we see that we are still safe. We are still alive. We are still here. And now that new thing we did is now inside our zone of comfort (you may have to do it more than once to get it in the zone, but you get the idea).
But first, we must KNOW that we are safe. Practicing this simple mantra, “I am safe” has completely expanded my life. I let it sink into my bones. Try it. Meditate on it. Say it to yourself in the mirror, “I am safe”.
Say it out loud with me now, “I am safe”.
How do you feel when you say it? How does your body feel when you say it? How does your mind feel? Use these feelings as information. Are you uncomfortable when you say it? Do you believe it’s true?

You are safe. No matter if you believe you are safe or not. You are. You are safe to mess up. You are safe to think big. You are safe to go out on a limb.
Let’s try a visualization. Of course I like to add some essential oils with my visualization. With this one, we are wanting to feel supported but also energized, so I am going to choose a simple oil, Lemon. Lemon helps uplift our thoughts and our mood and helps us get motivated! There is also a delicious blend from doTERRA (also in the Emotional Aromatherapy Enrollment Kit) called Motivate. It’s one of my hubby’s favorites! It is a good one to use for this visualization as well.
Close your eyes and take 3 deep breaths. Now say to yourself, “I am safe. I am protected. I am supported. There are angels nudging me from behind.”
Let this feeling of being completely safe sink in your bones and your cells. Imagine a warm beautiful purply soft blanket around you. This is the blanket of The Universe assuring you that you are completely safe. Go big. Participate in what this life has to offer.
I am safe. I can do things that make me uncomfortable. I can expand my comfort zone.
Now imagine a circle around you on the ground. This circle is your comfort zone. Make it as big or as small as feels right for you. What is inside this comfort zone? This is a nice place to be. But what if you expanded it out? What if it grew two inches? Take some time to picture that comfort zone growing. How does that feel?
Now open you eyes. You are safe. You are safe! You really are!
You are safe to make this life what you want to make it. Will you still be safe if someone doesn’t like you? Yes! Will you still be safe if someone talks bad about you? You bet! Will you still be safe if you mess up? Absolutely!
You are always safe!
Now I want you to take some time and write down five things that would be right outside your comfort zone. I am talking things that would expand the zone. They should be just right outside of your comfort zone, not all the way across the room from it. Write down five doable things that are outside of your comfort zone.
Make a promise to yourself that you will expand your comfort zone everyday. Do one thing everyday from that list that makes you uncomfortable, and watch how you can invite new things into your comfort zone. The goal is not to feel overly stressed and overly uncomfortable. The goal is to get comfortable doing “harder” things. The goal is to make the things you are viewing as “hard” easy.
I know you can do it. And the reason I know is, because I know you are safe. You are protected. You are supported. And there are angels nudging you from behind.
